The LaTeX xspace package

Version: 5.5 - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

The \xspace command in the xspace package adds space at the end of a macro designed for use in text, unless the macro is followed by certain punctuation characters. The package is installed in the LaTeX/required/tools subdirectory as part of the Standard LaTeX Tools Bundle.
