If you have access to another TeX systems, you may be able to use it with
SWP and SW. To add a different TeX formatter for typesetting a DVI or PDF
file, modify the existing DVI or PDF formatter settings:
-
From the Typeset menu, choose
Expert Settings.
-
Choose the DVI Format Settings or
PDF Format Settings tab.
-
Scroll the list of available formatters to select the one you want to use as
the basis for the new formatter and then choose
Add/Modify.
Make sure the formatter is compatible with the print driver and preview driver
being used on your system.
-
In the Name for TeX to DVI formatter box or
Name for TeX to PDF formatter box, enter a name
for the new formatter.
-
In the Executable filename box, enter the name
and location of the executable file for the formatter.
-
In the .ini filename box, enter the name and
location of the .ini file for the formatter.
-
Enter the TeX command to invoke the formatter.
The command lines vary depending on the formatter you select. Use the syntax
and commands in the Parameter macros section of the dialog box as a guide to
the command syntax.
ImportantMake
sure the command syntax is correct. When you typeset your document, the
program substitutes values for the specified settings and calls the selected
formatter. However, it doesn't attempt to determine whether the syntax you
enter will work correctly. The settings are recorded in the system registry.
If they are incorrect, your document won't be typeset and your system might
not operate properly.
-
Enter a name for the TeX format file.
The default value is latex_ml.
-
If you want to change the name of the formatter as it appears in compilation
messages, enter the new name in the Display appearance box.
-
If the formatter requires the TrueTeX command handler, check Use
TrueTeX command handler.
Note that preinstalled formatters already have correct settings.
-
If you want to set up the formatter using a batch file, check
Run in new command console.
-
Select the character set to be used by the new formatter.
NoteUnless
you are using a version of TeX (such as pTeX) that can process
non-ASCII characters, the default setting, ASCII (Normal), is appropriate for
all documents, including international documents to be
typeset with the Lambda system.
-
If you make an error, choose Revert to original
and enter the settings again.
-
Choose OK.
