Version 3.0 and Version 2.5 of Scientific WorkPlace appear to give different
results when you evaluate expressions such as
In Version 3.0, the result is
In Version 2.5, the result is
Although the Version 3.0 result appears to be incorrect, it is actually
equivalent to the Version 2.5 result, and both answers are correct. The
difference is that Version 3.0 of SWP adds a simplification step at the end of
the differentiation process. You can check this in Version 2.5. Select the
expression and then from the Maple menu, choose Simplify. The answer will be
the same as the answer you get in Version 3.0:
