Bug in Citation dialog for BibTeX

Version: 3.x, 4.x, 5.x - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

Problem

Entering a letter in the Go to page or letter control to find a citation in the Keys dialog box doesn't work. Entering a page number works correctly.

Explanation

This problem occurs only if you have chosen to create a document with a BibTeX bibliography (that is, if you have chosen Bibliography Choice from the Typeset menu and then selected BibTeX bibliography). It occurs only if you search for a citation using a letter. If instead you search for a citation using a page number, no problems occur.

Solution

Until this problem is fixed, we suggest you search for citations with page numbers, according to these instructions:

  1. From the Insert menu, choose Field and then choose Citation.

  2. Select the BibTeX database file from which you want to select a citation.

  3. Choose View Keys.

  4. In the box for Go to page or letter, enter a page number.

The list jumps to the page you indicated.

  5. Double-click the citation you want to insert.

  6. Choose OK.
