Maintaining links to .tex files in HTML

Version: 4.x & 5.x - Scientific WorkPlace, Scientific Word, & Scientific Notebook

If you have created a web of linked .tex documents, you can easily maintain the link structure when you export the documents to HTML. Changing a single setting in the program converts any .tex extensions that appear in links in your documents to .htm extensions. The conversion preserves links that use markers in the target files. Thus, the link

filename.tex#markerone

would be exported as

filename.htm#markerone

The change is global and affects all subsequent HTML exports.

  1. Open the program and from the Tools menu, choose Export Settings.

  2. In the Miscellaneous Settings section of the HTML Document Export Options tab sheet, check Convert .tex Link Targets to .htm.

  3. Choose OK.

  4. Open the document containing a link to another .tex document.

  5. From the File menu, choose Export Document as.

  6. Enter a name and location for the resulting .htm file and choose Save.
