Version: 3.x - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

Problem solved by this update

The Danish or Portuguese language options for the Babel package can be properly selected without generating a LaTeX error after applying this update.

Explanation

Two letters were transposed in the file packgs.opt. SWP and SW use this file to control the user interface for LaTeX packages.

Solution

Use either of these two solutions to correct the problem.

Solution 1

Edit the file packgs.opt using your favorite ASCII editor.

  1. Find the file packgs.opt in the Typeset subdirectory of your SWP or SW program directory (usually c:\swp30 or c:\sw30) and open the file using your favorite ASCII editor.

  2. Locate the line containing 7.1=Include Danish,dansih .

Note the transposition of letters in the last word.

  3. Change the line to 7.1=Include Danish,danish.

  4. Locate the line containing 23.2=Portuguese, protuguese.

Again, note the misspelling of the last word.

  5. Change the line to 23.2=Portuguese, portuguese.

  6. Save your changes and exit your ASCII editor.

Solution 2

Follow these instructions to download the update for packgs.opt:

  1. Download the packgs.opt update file.

  2. Save the file in the Typeset subdirectory of your SWP or SW program directory (usually c:\swp30 or c:\sw30). You will replace the existing file.
