How to create an interrupted numbered list for typesetting

Version: 3.x, 4.x, 5.x - Scientific WorkPlace & Scientific Word

Use the points or newpnts package to create a numbered list interrupted by an unnumbered paragraph:

  1. Add the points or newpnts package to your document.
  2. Place the insertion point where you want the numbered list to begin.
  3. Enter an encapsulated TeX field.
  4. In the entry area, type \setcounter{enumi}{x}\RESUME where x is a value one less than the starting number you want.

    The command is case-sensitive.

  5. Choose OK.
  6. Begin entering the numbered list.
  7. Enter the unnumbered paragraph that interrupts the list.
  8. At the end of the unnumbered paragraph, enter an encapsulated TeX field.
  9. In the entry area, type \RESUME and choose OK.
  10. Complete the list.
